Zhanjiang Thanksgiving

Greetings,

Five of us enjoyed Thanksgiving in the lobby of Zhanjiang's only 5-star hotel, The Crowne Plaza.

We almost fell over when we saw a roasted turkey on the buffet. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and were stuffed when we left at 9:00 p.m.

The Crowne Plaza is a great setting, the food is quite good and beer (as much as you want) is always included in the charge.

The meal cost us a stunning 100 RMB per person (about $12.75) with no tax or service charge attached.

Matt asked the waitress -- Mindy, a recent graduate of No. 15 Middle School -- to take the photo.

From left to right: Nicole, Matt, Brenda, Kevin and Sister Ann.

I should add that Brenda is a vegetarian, but the very site of the turkey made her a carnivore for the day.

Be well,

Kevin

PS: Can the Chinese prepare a Thanksgiving turkey? Absolutely!

Zhaniang Beer Festival

Greetings,

Who took the photographs? Beats me.

I handed out my No. 15 Middle School business card to several beer festival revelers and the photographs showed up a few days later.

Like SHISH KABOB? Then head for a Chinese beer festival.

We had beef, lamb, ostrich and venison kabob's. I avoided the, "I don't know how to say it in English kabobs." (mostly)

Be well,

Kevin
